FURTHER EVIDENCE. (Pkr Pucks Association.] London, July 21, At the court martial to-day, an able seaman belonging to H.M.B. Cainpordown deposed that Rear-Admiral Markham directed the starboard engine three quarter speed astern. The engineer coufirmed this statement. Mr Carr, navigating lieutenant of the Catnperdown, deposed that he thought the Admiral, Captain Johnston, and himself, were confident the evolution ordered was impossible Admiral Markham remarked "We have to do it ; Tryon means it," at the same time piping men to collision stations. Hud the Caiuperdown used her screws to aid the helm i'rom the beginning she could easily hn.ie turned in less than six hundred yard*, but that would not have been performing the evolution. When the ships were end on and turning towards each other, the collision could havo been avoided if tho Victoria and Cauiperdowu had reverend their helms.
