The secretary of the Marton Football Club has written to the secretary of the Palmerston Football Club stating that Marton declines to play the final match for the senior championship at Palmerston on Saturday, aB ordered by the Union. Therefore the Palmerston club secures the Cup this : year. , : The matches set down for decision to-morrow in the Manawatu Junior Cup competition are : ' Balls v Keakahas at Palmeraton, and Awahuri v Pirates at Awahuri. The Huriterville and Feilding Clubs will not be playing, as the* Kaiwhakas and Palmerston II have, retired from the contest. - The match between the New Zealand and Queensland teams, reported in yesterday's issue, was. against 18 seniors, and not juniors.
