(PEE FKKBB ASSOCIATION.) London, July 19, Iv tho House of Commons to day, in Uorainittoe on the Homo Rule Bill, clausoa 28 and 29, dealing with Judges and Civil servants, woro passed without a diyiaion. We understand that Mr R. F. Haybittle's Strinp band has been engaged for the Palmerston Mounted Rides Annual Ball on tho 2nd proximo. This is the first Palmerston engagement that Mr Haybittle's Band has bad, and knowing as we do tbo excellent quality of dance music this band always discourses, we feel sure it will be the forerunner ot many more future engagements from that quarter. The manager of the Qisborne Cheese Factory who was on a visit to this district a few days ago, is of opinion that farmers who intend going in for cheese making should produce richer feed such as cloyer and rye grass, as the cocksfoot which is most prominent in this district, doeß not give Htich a good flavour to cheese as the before-mentioned grasses. The rich pastures in Canterbury and Gisborne are said to be the cause of the good name gained by cheese sent from those districts. The gentleman in question considered that in other respects this district was suitable for dairying, but laid particular stress on the importance of rich pasture.
