Tea thousand bales of Kiver Plate wool were offered, 3600 bales of that number being sold at a decline of from 5 to 10 centimes. About 1450 bales of Australian wool were offered, 350 being sold at prices on a par with the rates ruling at the close of the London sales. Giring evidence before Lord Ocslow's Commission, Major Stackpool, of the War Office, said freezing did not hart mutton, but it seriously damaged beef.
