The Feilding Dramatic Company have now m active rehearsal the sensational drama of "Blow for Blow" which will be played in the Assembly Rooms on Monday, the 25th inst. This will be the best piece over staged by our local amateurs, who are neither sparing pains nor expense to achieve a grea er success than has yet been accomplished by them. Mr Moore, carpenter, of Halcombe, was engaged in removing a lean to in that towuship on Wednesday last and was assisted in Lhe work by his adopted son, a little t'ellow of some eight years. During the progress of the work a portion of the frame -work fell on the uni'ortuuate boy, breaking both bones of one of his legs. Dr Sorlev promptly attended, and did all that medical skill could do to assuage the boy's sufferings. A disease of a peculiar nature has been committing extensive ravages amouyst the lambs in the Tauranga District which are dying off at the alarming rate of 80 per cent The Stock Department realising the serious nature of the disease has despatched Mr McLean, veterinary sur geon, to the affected district in order to make a thorough investigation into its cause. Christensen a day or two ago whilst riding, in company with some friends, on the Maknio £oad. The horse she was riding suddenly swerved from some cause or other, and \irs Christeusen was thrown to the ground, and sustained some bruises and a rather severe shock to her system. Dr Sorley was sent for, and under his care Mrs Chmtensen is progressing favourably.
