Ball at Mangaone
fOTJB O"WN CO-RESPONDENT.] The ball organised by Messrs George Allerby (senior) and F. Young, of the Valley Boad to assist in augmenting the funds of the Mangaone Public Hall, passed off successfully on Thursday last. There was not quite such a large attendance as was expected, but all those present enjoyed themselves thoroughly, in which they were largely assisted by the really excellent music supplied by Mr R F. Haybittle (piano) and J. Stewart (violin). Dancing was started at about half-past eight, and was kept up with spirit until about half-past four in the morning. Daring the evening Mrs Oliver, of Feilding, and Miss Stewart, of Mangaoce, and Mr Owen Pleasants (l unr ") favored the company with songs. They were accompanied on the piano by Mr Haybittle, and these additions to the programme made a pleasant variety in the proceedings. The refreshments and comestibles were all that could be desired, and Messrs Allerby and Young are to be congratulated on the efficient manner in which they carried out the undertaking.
