The attendance of the public in the afternoon and evening was not so good as on previous occasions, owing to the sudden rainfall which came on about five o'clock, and continued at intervals during the night. However, the visitors were delighted with the many remarkably beautiful flowers and collections of plants. The baskets of flowers were much admired, as were also the bridal bouquets. Jn the course of the evening the Feilding Brass Band discoursed sweet mnsic in good style, and added much to' the pleasure of the audience. At the.sonclusion of the show Mr H. WorsfoldV officiated as Dutch Auctioneer, and succeeded in attracting numerous buyers. We have pleasure m congratulating/the Society on the success which yesterday, as on previous shows, attended their efforts. Tue radges were Messrs Letbjbridge and Harfo* tne flowers ana vegetables, and |^s G. Kirton and Mr liethbridge for the produce, and their awards, with some eiceptaoiißVappearecl to {S> T * satisfaction,

Messrs Fowles (senr.) and H. Worsfold officiated as direciors of the staging of the exhibits, every one of which was shown to the best advantage. The hardest worked official was, of course, the Secretary, Mr Edmund Goodbehere, to whom the.greatest credit is due for his indefatigable energy in promoting and maints inmg the Society in the high place it occupies in public estimation. A tin of fresh butter packed by Mr W. W. Corpe, of the VI akino factory, under the Stevens and Mountfort's cold vacuum process, which was handed to the Secretary on the 11th of December, 1889, was opened and found to be sweet and fairly sound.
