The Farnell Scandal
f PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. J London, November 22. The Daily Telegraph considers that the result of the O'Shea divorce case has convulsed the Gladstone party, The English Catholics and the dissenting Presbyterian press insist that Mr Pnruell should retire from the lead of tbe Irish Party. The Star, in referring to the case, admits that the English and Scotch Liberals are united against Mr Parnell. The New York Tribune considers that the charge in which Mr Parnell stands convicted is so base that he must retire. The Canadian press are unanimous in condemnation of his conduct. In Ireland resolutions are carried daily favouring Mr Parnell n>aintaning the leadership of the party. The Roman Catholic Bishops are silent in the matter. A female admirer of Mr Parnell's has bequeathed him £2000.
