WELLrNGTOt.*. September 21. George Thomas and Co. report produce prices as follows :—A general dulness characterises the grain market aud values are much on the same hues as noted in our last report. Large ahipmeuta of oats are being made to Victoria, in order to participate in the incretißed values which are sure to rule ou the a Ided dutie3 comiug into operation, aud taking effect from Ist December next; good short samples are 3/- to 8/2 ; inferior sorts, 2/10 to 3/- ; seed descriptions, 3/3 ; straw chaff, £2 15/- to £3 ; oatmeal, £14 to £15 ; flour, roller £9 17/6 to £10 5/stone £8 15/- to £9; bran, £3 15/h; pollard, £4 ; whole fowls' wheat, 3/4 to 3/6; broken do, from 2/9; feed barley, 2/9 to 3/- ; maize, 3/- to 3/6 ; beans, 3/9 ; blue peas, 4/3; pearl bailey, £19; split peas, 15/-; ryegrass seed, 4/3 ; cocksfoot, 2£d to 3d ; clovers, 7d to lOd ; Oamaru potatoes, £5 ; other descriptions, £4 to £4 10/-; seed samples £5 to £6; cheese, 5d to s£d ; second sorts, 9d; hams and bacon, 8d; fresh butter, a drug 5d to 8d ; salt do unsaleable; eggs, firm at 8d to 9d; honey, 4d. Supplies of fruit have been moderate; the market is still full of last week s arrivals of apples, which lira very inactive, selling from 4/- for suspected quality to 8/6 for sound cases ; island oranges 7/6 to 8/6. The demand for poultry is slackening off; fowls rule from 2/6 2/9; ducks, 3/6; turkeys, 6/6; geese, 6/- per pair.
