Fire Prevention
The adjourned meeting to receive the report- of the committee appointed to consider the beat means to prevent the recurrence of fires in the Borough, will be held to-morrow evening in the Foresters' Hall. It will be the duty of every burgess or householder to attend, in order that the report, with the suggestions therein contained, may be freely and openly discussed, and considered from all points of view before they are finally accepted. Anything like precipitancy or undue haste must be carefully avoided in a case like the present where the interests involved are so serious, but at the same time all due and proper dispatch must be encouraged in order that ! there may be no unnecessary delay in
taking the steps deemed necessary and ' feasible under . the circumstances of the Borough, for the prvention of loss by fixe of life and property. We hope that every one who has an idea or suggestion will make it without fear or hesitation, in order that the others present at the meeting may have the benefit of it. Free discussion is the soul of progress in a matter of this .kind.. ,_ ., ...... ...... ■>-■■■-: ■.. : -.-.. - :■ j
