MR FRASER AT KARERE.
(FEB UNITED PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Palmebston, This Day. Mr Donald Fraser addressed a meeting at the School House, Earere, last evening. There was a good attendance. The candidate recapitulated his previous addresses on general questions. Regarding the choice of railways, one of tbe Palmer--ston papers had erroneously reported his statement at Feilding.. He favored the central route because it opened up much country. He strongly objected to the Taranaki route. Regarding education, when he referred to free primary up to the fourth standard he was not particular as to the standard ho long as the children received a thorough grounding and could read, write, and cipher. He thought Palmerston the proper place for the failway junction, but since Bunnytnorpe'fod been sold on the special understanding that the junction would be there, he thought the purchasers were entitled, to compensation. A vote, of -eon fid ence waa proposed by Mr Monrad, seconded by.M_r Roe, and carried by a large majority— 16 for, 4 against. No- amendment. -'' -. . ... _._.j, .-,. y 'A
