Fire at Kiwitea

A fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon in a whare occupied by five bushmen, and situated on Makay's line, about half a mile from the residence of Mr Davies. It occurred while the men were at work in the bush, and it is supposed to have originated from the chimney. The fire is a great loss to the occupants, as it con- ■ tained besides stores, bedding, clothing, &C-, some other valuables, including watches, guns, and other articles besides money. In fact some of the sufferers , have lost literally all they possessed, as : nearly everything was destroyed. The ' unfortunate men were in town yesterday, and much sympathy was felt for them. ( The total loss is estimated not less than } £60. am^ ammmmm mmmm <
