MR FRASER AT HALCOMBE.

There was a Rood attendance to hear Air Fraser last evening. Mr Tompkins was in the chair. Questions : —

In reply to Mr Marsh he did not know if the reduction in tho education would reduce expenses one half, but thought that by only teaching up to 4th standard, and only taking children over seven years j of age, it would. Mr Marsh said in Feildine Mr Fraser bad expressed niinself in favor of denozninationalism. Mr Fraser said No; he had only favored it if it could be* done without breaking up the present system. "■. Mr Harris asked about a road to the Otamakapua Block. He said Mr Macarthiur only took notice of roads in Oroua. Mr Fraser would be in favor of having the road tested, atid if it opened up good country, and was required, it should be mad**. 1 After some more questions, Mr Harris moved a vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Fraser, Mr Cameron seconding. Me Marsh moved an amendment of thanks only, Mr Everets seconding Foramendment, 9; formolion, about 20. !The Chairman declared the vote of confidence carried. The meeting, which was orderly throughout, terminated about 9 o'clock. Those who voted for the amendment were hissed. Mr Fraser was loudly applauded when the motion was declared carried.
