Bunnythorpe School

On Monday evening the usual weekly entertainment took place and the various readin .s. songs, and recitations, given by Messrs Sexton, Brady, Goldfinch senr. and junr., Prendergasf and Nash, were very much appreciated. There is no doubt these social gatherings do a great deal of good ; they are conducted on the principle of the Penny Readings at Home and are not so much for a display of talent as to induce the residents to amuse each other. Last week there was no entertainment in consequ nee of the illness of Mr Slipper, and it is feared he will not be able, during (he present winter, to assist at the untertaimenls • nevertheless, although the music'ii. portion is much missed the local talent will stiil be able to carry the entertainments through as successfully as last evening.
