Folding Borough Council
An ordinary meeting of the Council was held on Thursday evening Present „ — Crs Worsfold, Goodbehere, Kuther- " ford, Loudon, Fowles, Carthew, Higgin, and Thompson. - In the absence of the Mayor Or Goodbeliere, was elected Chairman. The minutes of the previous ordinary meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from Mr W. Ham* mond re his rates. The monthly report of the Finance* Committee, including the passing of jws^ counts amounting to £112 14s 4d, was _•• adopted. '"-"•* The mon ibly report of the Poundkeeper ' was read- The number of animals unpounded during the month had been 45, the total amount received £3 8s 9d, and the amount due lo the Council £2 2s 9d. Cr Higgin called attention to the fact that private individuals had been carting '• earth away from the sidesof the roads. Iv some instances excavations- had been' made, which had not only disfigured the places, but had rendered them Dositively ' dangerous, and he thought the practice * should be put a stop to . ..■;.;. 1 A short conversation followed >n which • the Council agreed with Cr r Higgin, • and^ it was resolved, That the- Town Clerk be instructed to give public notice that'tint**p.rsons removing soil from any public street or square without authority will - sujbject themselves to legal prosecution, .Resolved, That the Cuuncti meet a«'aia on lhursday the 17th;instant at the same hour and place ' This beinu all the business the Coun. ci! thea&djouriittii.
