Ancient Order of Foresters
I At a meeting- of the district officers ' held recently in Wellington, the D. C.K. made the following statement : — 1 he Order of Forestry now comprises AC)S7 Courts and 590,983 members, with an accumulated capital of £3.202.856; 53.733 new members were initiated during" the y«>ar, and the total balance of receipts, after meet* tnfr all claims, was £152 t 43l 9* 2d The V\ ellittgton District comprises 16 Courts of 1A79 memben», with an accumulated capital ot £18.39(3. £3521 7s was received on account of sick and funeral fund, and £1«99 3< 6d was paid away rftirinjr the yoar, leaving a balance of £16'J2 >U 6d to the jfooa. Ihe Wellington District Jiodye has been increased during the year by 294 now members ; Mir George B«»wen f by 69 ; **ir George Grey, by 27 ; Robin Hood, by 26 ; Wang;nnui, by 43 ; Greytowu, by 20 ; Feidinijr, by 19 ; Martotii by 18; and 9 other Courts, by 72 between them. It was stated that the debt on the hall, Tory-street, would be completely wiped »ut during next month; making a total of about £0000 raised by Courtz Sir Grorge Bowen and Robin Hood in less than five years | for that purpose. It was also mentioned that a library was being established in connection with Court .sir George Bowen.
