MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.
«■»- The ordinary meeting was held at Foxfcon on Tuesday last. The Chairman and ill the Councillors were present. The correspondence comprised letters m formal business only. Proposed by Cr M 'Beth, seconded by 3r Sanson, "That the services of the Present roadman for ihe Kiwitea Riding ie dispensed with, and that Cr M'Beth je authorised to arrange for another man." An application was received from the West Coast Railway Company for pernis.sion to make a temporary road on 'ounty property at Longburn. The Chairman reported favorably of the apilication, and it was proposed by Ct Jruce, seconded by Cr Hadfield, and i arried, "That permission be given to he Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company to form a temporary road on be spare chain at the Longburn junction n the conditions specified." Proposed by Cr Sanson, seconded by !r Bruce, " That an additional Is per 00 feet be allowed to Warne and Beard >r all piles used in constructing the lower Gorge Bridge." , A large amount of business was done, nimportant to this district, after which :c ■..'.'.-r.:'"'] ndiourned.
