A revival of fanaticism has been manifested at Tantah, one of the towns recently evacuated by the British, and it is feaied that further outrages may be perpetrated. The Egyptian nobles are petitioning for the retention of the troops. October 9. _,- Intelligence is to hand from Cairo that an English counsel has been denied access to Arabi by the Egyptian authorities. Sir E. Malet, the British ConsulGeneral, will therefore communicate with the Egyptian Government with a view to obtain permission for the counsel to visit Arabi. The murderers of Dr Ribton and Signor Caltani during the outbreak in tbis city in June last were publicly bange * here this morning. Constantinople, October 7. Lord Dufferin, in replying to the request of the Porte that the British Government should state definitely the date upen which the British *roops would be withdrawn from ' gypt, has informed the Porte tbat the English troops will leave the Principality as soon as the restoration of order and the pacification of the country has been accomplished.
