At the instance of the Czar, a communication bas been addressed to the Provincial Mayors, enjoining them to use Drastic measures for the repression of Anti-Jewish outbreaks. Alexandria, October 2. Sir Garnet Wolsley expects to leave Egypt on the 20th inst. Immedi te action is to be taken in the reorganisation of the Egypt ; an army under a scheme to be formed by Baker Pasha. Melbourne, This Day. Tbe Government has declined to grant Dr Barker an enquiry into the charges made against hi in in connection with the late Mrs Stent, as it is considered to he unnecessary. Dr Barker will therefore not resign his position on the Victorian Medical Board as was required of him.
