ROBBERIES IN AUCKLAND

A number of -daring household robber-i.-s in the day-time have been perpet ated fhi< week in Auckland. On Snnday H. Wnrrnll's house, at Vnunt Albert, was robbed of £12 in money ; on Monday the JJev. C. Carter, of Ponsonbv, lost £16 in jewellery and money; on Tuesday Mr.T. M. Hnslett's house in Orafton-road was robbed of £30, jewellery, and effects. Tlie police hnve no cine, and a sort of X'iummer scare is reviving. It will be ?e-en by our telegrams tbat JJobert Marish, a burglar, was arresfed on the 14th irist., after a sharp chase.— Mr liobert Marsli was not "unknown to fame" in the Manawatu.
