SIR GEORGE GREY AND MR WESTON.
Sir Geo. Grey his no love for Mr Weston, (says the Wanganui Herald) and the two frequently break a lance. We read that v ir George, during the debate on Mr Weston's Offences Against Persons Bill, made a suggestion in rather a playful mood, " that by way of exemplification of the efficaciousness of the tmnishment proposed, the birch should be applied to the shoulders of ihe father of the bill. The proposal was certainly not very select under the circumstances, but it had the full effect intended — viz.. io turn the laugh against Mr Weston. This had the effect of putting that little gentleman in a fearful 'scot,' and his efforts at retailiation were more tnergetic than graceful."
