The evidence went to show that on the. 7th of Jane he woman was alive, but4n : a very excited and nervous state ; that she repeatedly told one witness that her J husband intended to kill her. This witness said h» did not believe the statement, therefore had not repeated it to anyone. When Beattie was told that his wife had said he intended to kill her he changed colour, sta ted, and appeared alarmed.
