STEVENS AND GORTON'S SALE AT SANDON.

Messrs Stevens and Gorton's sale at Sandon on Tuesday last was fairly attended. Following are the quotations : Two-year-old steers, £3 15s to £4 5s ; Cows, £3 ls 6d ; Milch cows, £3 to £6 10s ; Yearlings, 37i6d, to £2 5s ; Calves, 35s ; Fat sheep, 10s 9d to 14s ; Ewes, 15s 6d ; I ambs, 6s 5d to 7s 6d ; Very few haoks offered. One of Clayton and Shuttleworth's Thrashing Machines sold to Mr Bailey, of Sandon, for £305; (by telegbaph.)

Any lots brought forward find ready purchasers at full prices. Chick samples are selliog at 3s 9d to 4s, according to quality. Oats. — Values are unchanged. Best milling range from 3s 3d lo 3s 4d, and feed descriptions 3s Id to 3s 2d. Barley. — There is no change in this grain to report. Although prues are maintained, Bales are not so easy to effect. Potatoes. — Not much is doin^, buyers not seeming inclined to respond to growers' rates. The quantity held by dealers is considerable. Prices are unaltered.

Wheat. — The report of last week applies to the present position of tbis market, and for the time being sales ave impossible at late quotations; on the other hand, holders show no disposition to make concessions en their limits. Prime milling is quoted at 4s lOd to 4s 11 per bushel (nominal); medium, 4s lo 4s 8d (nominal; ; fowl feed aud inferior, 2s 6d to 3s 9d per bushel. Oats. — The market is little easier, without any slackening in demaud. Good light feed finds ready buyers at 2s lOd to 3s per bushel ; and milling, at 3s Id. Barley. — In the absence of prime samples little is doing, malsters being indifferent about purchasing secondary qualities. Prime is quoted at 5s per bushel (nominal).
