A temporary railway embankment reserve haa given way in several places. Trains again keep old line. But for the protective works a large portion of the town would have been flooded. The height of the river has been about stationary since two o'clock. It is expected that it xrtiV gradual ]y subside. Tho township is still pretty much (lo Jed with water.
