FEILDING BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Thubsday, June 22nd. Present — His AVorship the Mayor (in. the chair) Crs. Leivers, Baker, Loudon, J. i . Thompson, Dr. Johnston and Higtjin. 1 lie minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was received from the Department of Jiistico, asking the cost of each Licensing District of carrying out the Licensing Act of 1881. The letter was read and kid on the table. Or Higgin moved that the report of the committee appointed to draw up a schedule of works, re the proposed loan of £'6<X'O, b" received. Seconded by Cr. Baker, and carried on the voices. At the suggestion of the Mayor, the Council resolved itself into committee to consider the report ; and at 9 o'clock the committee adjourned to hold a I SPECIAL MEETING To amend the Burgess List. The Clf rk reported that there were no objections. The Mayor and two Crs certified in th<* usual way. The Council again went into committee on the schedule report. Cr Loudon proposed, and Cr J. C Thompson seconded, that before passing the report of the Schedule C mmittee for the purpose of doing justice to each part of the town, a committee be appointed, consisting of the Mayor, Crs Johnston, J. C. I hompson and the mover to fix the number and boundaries of wa ds into which to divide the Borough. The Council divided— Ayes : Cr» Loudon, J. C Thompson, Johnston and the Mayor. Noes; Crs M iggin, Lewers, and Baker. The motion was thtrefor© carried. Cr Loudon proposed, and Cr Baker seconded, that the remuneration of auditors be £3 3s. Carried. Cr Loudon proposed, and Cr J. C. Thompson seconder!, that the Council meet again on July 6th. arried. The Mayor then closed the meeting.
