HOSPITAL TAXATION

FURTHER PROTEST MADE TAURANGA SEEKS SUPPORT Support for a further protest to the Government against the heavy incidence of hospital taxation on county ratepayers was sought by the Tauranga County Council at a meeting of the Franklin County Council on Monday. The chairman, Mr J. N. Massey, M.P., said the New Zealand Counties’ Association was dealing with the question as an urgent county council problem. The matter of high hospital taxation was also included in the Order of Reference of the Local Government Select Committee of Investigation. The letter' was received on the motion of Mr K. A. Murray, seconded by Mr A. M. Hamilton.
