GUMBOOTS FOR WORKERS BULK ORDER PLACED POWER BOABD RECEIVES. ADVICE Advice was received by the Franklin Electric Power Board in meeting yesterday from Hie secretary of the Power Boards’ Association, Mr E. Swain, in reply to its letter regarding Hie need for gmnhoots for employees, that there was unfortunately no change in flic position and there was no supply of gumboots in New Zealand available for workers. Attempts, Mr Swain said, had been made to place a hulk Government order in the United Stales of America and it was still hoped that a substantial supply might he available from this source. In such an event the needs of the power hoards would not he lost sight of.
