NEARLY £IOO,OOO A YEAR POWER BOARD OPERATIONS REVENUE FROM ELECTRICITY The balance sheet, of the Franklin Tower Board, presented at yesterday’s meeting, revealed that revenue from the sales of electricity for the year ended March 31, 194 3, amounted 1o £97,457, compared with £95,1)11) the previous year, an increase of £1538. Revenue from other sources totalled £1968 as against £2lOl the previous year. The total income from all sources was £99,425. compared with £98,020. an increase of £1405 on the year’s operations. “These figures reveal I hat the Board is a very big concern, the biggest in the Franklin county. Our turnover is nearly £IOO.OOO and our profit roughly £2OOO. We are sailing pretty close to the wind.” said Mr C. K. Lawrie.
“We have a capital expenditure of nearly half a million.” the secretary. Mr A. .f. McDowall, informed the hoard.
“The position would have been infinitely belter under normal times.” the chairman. Mr ,1. Dean. said.
Members concurred that the position. despite war conditions, was highly satisfactory.
