TUAKAU SOLDIERS RETURN ONE WELCOMED ■ Three Tuakau district soldiers recently invalided from the Middle East, were on board the hospital train which passed through on Monday. They were:— W.0.l R. 11. Lapwood. Tuakau. Lance-Corporal J. \V. Woods, Port Waikato. Private R. L. Liltlewood. Tuakau. The two Hrsl-named did not disembark al Tuakau but were taken to Auckland and admitted to hospital for furlker treatment. Private Liltlewood was mel al the Tuakau railway station by (lie Tuakau reception committee, and later with bis wife and bis parents, entertained at morning lea where lie was welcomed by |lie chairman of Hie Tuakau Town Hoard. Mr 11. A. Madill. the chairman of the Tuakau IP'liirm'd Services' Association. Mr J. E. Geraglily. Ihe secretary of Tuakau Transport, Limited, Mr L, E.'Vincent, by whom lie was employed before going overseas, and the secretary of the Tuakau Soldiers’. Welfare League. Mrs F. Escoll.
Private Lilllewood replied saying that lie was pleased lo he home. He added that lie left determined to do his hit and he hoped he had been able to do so. lie thanked the reception commit Lee for its kindly welcome.
