Tonight’s Dance. A fiance arranged by the St. John Ambulance Brigade will he held in the Masonic hail, Pukekohe, tonight. Details are advertised. Franklin Plunket Society. The annual meeting of the Franklin Plunket Society will be held in the Parish hall on May 6. All mothers are invited to attend. Inquest Adjourned. An inquest concerning the death of Mr James Blake, 45, married, of Mount Eden, formerly of Pukekohe, who died from injuries received as a result of colliding with a van at Epsom on Wednesday morning, was opened on Wednesday afternoon and adjourned sine die, after evidence of identification had been given. The funeral took place at Pukekohe cemetery this afternoon.
Princess Elizabeth’s Birthday
Princess Elizabeth, heiress presumptive to the Throne, celebrated her sixteenth birthday last Tuesday. Born in London in 1920, she was christened Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, the names being those of her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother respectively. The King and Queen’s only other child, Princess Margaret Rose, is four years younger than her sister, her birthday being on August 21.
