HACKS IN DEMAND
GOOD PRICES REALISED SPRING HORSE FAIR (INBROKENS DULL OF SALE Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limited, opened their annual two-day spring horse fair at, Pukekohe on Monday, when a good yarding of unbroken horses and hacks came forward. There was not a brisk request for unbroken horses, but in most cases Hie vendors were prepared to meet the market, and satisfactory prices were realised. There was a keen demand for good backs, and values were satisfactory. The range of prices was: Best unbroken 3 and -i-year-old fillies and geldings, £ll Lo £lO 10s: oilier unbroken 3 and 4 -year-old fillies and geldings, £7 JOs to £lO 10s; good 2-ycar-old fillies and geldings, £7 to £0; yearlings, £3 to £5 10s; best hacks, £l4 to £l9; good hacks, £lO to £l2 10s: other hacks and ponies, £3 to £3.
YESTERDAY’S OFFERING BIDDING STEADY Over 100 working horses were offered when the fair was continued yesterday. There was a good attendance of buyers. Bidding was steady throughout, and the majority of the yarding changed hands at satisfactory prices. Best young active medium draughts, all work, made from £2B 10s to £35; good useful farm horses, all work, £22 to £2B; good 3 and 4-year-old Allies and geldings, broken to chains, £lB to £22; lighter farm sorts, broken to chains, £lO to £l°j aged farm horses, £lO to £18; aged and worn farm horses, £2 to £7 10s.
