VOTE OF APPRECIATION
EX-TOWN BOARD MEMBERS WORK FOR THE DISTRICT After having rendered wonderful service to the Tuakau Town District for many years, Messrs S. H. Crawford, E. W. Fielder and T. G. Morgan have retired from local politics. At the June meeting of the Town Board, a vole of appreciation of 1 lie splendid services given to the town by the members named was placed oh record. Mr Crawford, who is well-known ihrou&houl the Franklin and Raglan counties as a local body administrator, has given about 45 years’ service to tiie ratepayers. For over 30 years he represented the Onewhero riding otHlie Raglan County Council and during this term adopter! a progressive roading policy which had much to do with tlie remarkable development of the Onewhero district. After leaving Oiie.whero to settle in Tuakau, Mr Crawford was elected to the Tuakau Town Board-and retained 1 iis seal for 13 years, lhe last Ihree of which were as chairman of lhe hoard. During 1 1 is chairmanship a roads improvement loan was authorised by the ratepayers with lhe result that a comprehensive tar-sealing policy was carried out in respect lo secondary roads. Mr Crawford personally supervised much of Ihe work. Road works in Hie Onewhero riding and Tuakau Town District will serve as a permanent record of Mr Crawford's wonderful achievement. At a meeling of file Tuakau patriotic committee, a vole of appreciation of Mr Crawford’s services since the inception of lhe committee, was passed.
Mr H. A. Madill, the new chairman of the town hoard, automatically becomes chairman of Ihe patriotic committee.
