A Win For Cooper and Curd. The claim made by I lie well-known Pukekohe motoring firm of Cooper ail cl Curd. Limited, about their slocks of spare parts, has been substantiated as a result of a Dominion-wide competition. During November, General Motors Corporation, Limited (New Zealand), circularised their distributors offering a prize for the best display of spare parts. The competition, judged this month, was won by Cooper and Curd, of Pukekohe. This same lirm was also awarded a special prize for a window dressing competition, also conducted by General Motors Limited. The result proves again Ihe enterprise of this well-known Pukekohe firm.

Tar Sealing of Totara Avenue. A plea that Totara Avenue be tarsealed was made by Mr A. F. Brown at last week’s meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council. He said lie was amazed to learn that Ibis street was to be reformed and metalled only, as he had been under the impression ir was to be sealed. He asked if there was any possible chance of the sealing being done. The Mayor, Mr J. Roufly, said the sealing work was not included in the Joan proposals. As the council’s term of office had nearly expired he for one was not going to commit the incoming council. Personally he did not think the sealing of the road was an insuperable difficulty. However, it would be a matter for the incoming council. Mr G. H. Armstrong said other roads in the borough needed attention also but, that in his opinion, would be a ques’tibn for another loan. The matter was not pursued.
