THE PUKEKOHE GROUP IMW I CANDIDATE CHOSEN MISS E. J. GRAHAM Interest in the Pukekohe group queen carnival is quickening and so far Iwo candidates, Mrs J. M. Stevenson ('sports) and Miss E. .). Graham (country) have been announced. FUNCTJON AT PUNI There was an exceptionally large attendance at a dance held in the Puni hall on Wednesday evening. Music was supplied by Warren’s orchestra and Mr A. Parker was an efficient master of ceremonies. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss L. Wright and Mr A. McDowall. A dainly supper was provided and served by the women of the district. During the evening voting took place to elect by popular vote the Puni nominee to the central group and Miss E. .1. Graham was the successful candidate. Competitions for a leg of lamb (donated by Mr L. McLellan) and a box of chocolates (donated by Mr E. H. Keating) were won by Mrs G. Maguire and Mrs A. Franklin respectively. The credit balance was £ll Us 7d.
