Ac- j rused appeared in the Pukekohe Police Courl before Messrs G. K. Lawrie and j G. E. Waller, J.P.’s when lie pleaded j guilty. Evidence went to show that accused aggravated the offence by getting an- j other native lo assist him in drinking j the liquor.
As he had been convicted in the j Pukekohe Court for the theft of a , bicycle 12 months ago, the Bench cided to send Howard to prison for 14 days.
THEFT OF GLASS TANKARD At a sitting of the Pukekohe Police Court, Messrs G. K. Lawrie and J. Patterson, J.P.’s presiding, Warn Pompey, a Pukekohe Maori labourer, appeared on a charge of stealing a glass tankard (generally known as a handle) the property of the Pukekohe Hotel. H was stated that Constables A. Johnston and E. Daken found defendant at the rear of the hotel with the “handle” in his pocket. Defendant was convicted and discharged and by consent a prohibition order was issued against him.
