DILAPIDATED CAR

MARKET GARDENER CHARGED FINES IMPOSED A market gardener, Sana Kara, was lined £3 and costs £2 2s at the Pukekolie Court this morning on charges relating to the use of an old/car in Queen street, Pulcekohe, on March 15. Kara was charged with exceeding 30 m.p.h. in the restricted area, having defective brakes and having no warrant of fitness for the car or the trailer which was in use at the time. Defendant pleaded not guilty.

Inspector N. C. Davenport said that at 2.15 p.m. on March 15 his attention was attracted to a trailer swaying badly behind a-car which was being driven at a high speed. V The ifway was so bad that he could not overtake the vehicle after checking defendant’s speed at 42 m.p.h. Kara <was unable to produce a warrant of fitness for either the car. or the trailer. -The handbrake was useless and the footbrake practically so! Since receiving the summons ,a warrant had been obtained after spending £6 on repairs.
