TUAKAU WINS GROUP DEFEAT OF MANGATAWHIRI THE G GRADE CONTEST The final match in the third group «©f the Franklin Lawn Tennis Association’s C grade competition resulted in the. Tuakau team defeating Mangatawhiri by nine sets to three. Tuakau will now have to meet West End in the final. Details are, Tuakau names first: — Ladies’ singles: Miss E. Bagnall lost to Miss 0. Prendergrast, 5—7; Miss B. Membery beat Miss A. Maitland, 7—5. "Men’s singles: D. Moclcett beat A. McKenzie, 9 —7; B. Mills beat A. Rhodes, 9 —2. •Ladies’ doubles: Misses Bagnall and Membery beat Misses Prendergrast and Maitland, 7—4; Mesdames Revell and Halsey beat Misses McKenzie and B. Prendergrast, 7—6; Mesdames Brough and Tonar lost to Misses J. MoAnulty and G. Maxwell, 6 —7. Men’s doubles: Moclcett, and Mills beat McKenzie and Rhodes, 9 —4; Geraghty and Brough beat Parker and Pope, 9 —6; Jameson and Kewish bea,t Ryder and Grogan, .9 —6.
