The Sands of Time.
Many years of attention have been devoted to the work of producing a Geneology of the Bible, accompanied with the spiritual aspect from 4004 B.C. to the birth of Christ. It does appear opportune today, owing to 'the speed race overtaking individual pro-; gress, to open a way to a more rapid realisation of the truths underlying our very existence which are practically unknown to the rising generation; Haste, hurry, and bustle * blot out! of life’s existence everything which matters most to all, both great and small —enjoyment, happiness and freedom.; An advertisement will appear in Hie Times shortly stating the place and time of lectures on the above subject..

Wo Labour Speakers. “There have been no public functions at which I fell it necessary to call upon the Labour Party to send representatives, and J have no apologies lo make,” declared the Mayor of Opunake (Mr A. J. Brennan) at a meeting of the Borough Council. The comment was made when a letter was received from the Opunake branch of the Labour Party suggesting that it, should have the privilege of providing speakers for public functions'and should be officially invited to do so. Mr Brennan considered the request to he sheer impertinence, and added: “If the Labour Party is looking for something to do; there are many more valuable things to which it could turn its attention, instead of looking for publicity of this kind.” The requests "were made 1 particularly in respect of soldiers’ functions, and, although he had had"previous notice t-fr&t a deputation from the branch was to wait on him on Hie subject, so far the meeting had failed lo materialise, said Mr Brennan. He considered, however. that such functions were outside Ihe sphere of party politics and that, carried lo its logical conclusion,, the matter would he reduced to absurdity, as every organisation, political and otherwise, would be entitled to an invitation to send representatives.
