PUKEKOHE EAST SCHOOL

CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS SATURDAY NEXT The Pukekolie East Centennial Subcommittee advises that the published date, March 9, for the Pukekolie East settlers’ picnic and sports has been cancelled, and it is now the intention of the committee to join in with the Pukekolie East School Re-union Celebrations on March 9 and 10. The centennial memorial swimming bath is now being constructed and if possible this will be officially opened during the school reunion celebrations. Another centennial fixture for Pukekohe East district is the opening of the centennial memorial tennis pavilion. This was tentatively fixed for April 6 but the exact date will be announced later. The memorial has been approved by the National Gententennial Council and it is hoped to start the erection of the building soon.

PUKEKOHE EAST CHURCH In connection with the anniversary of the defence of the Pukekohe Bast Church, it is proposed to hold centennial church memorial celebrations on Saturday, September 14, 1940.
