THE RAGWORT PROBLEM
FARMERS’ UNION OFFER HUNIJA DISTRICT The Franklin County Council received a request from the Tlunua branch of the Farmers’ Union asking for the formulation of a plan to deal with the ragwort problem on a large scale. The branch offered the council every assistance in giving effect to any plans proposed and suggested that drives be arranged on properties said to be beyond the control of the occupier. It was decided to thank the branch for its suggestions and offer of assistance and that Messrs .T. N. Massey. W. Mathieson. A. P. Day and A. C. Bettany meet members of the branch in order to discuss the problem in the district and means to overcome it.
