HEAVY RAIN

A WET WEEK-END OUTDOOR FIXTURES POSTPONED Very heavy rain fell throughout Saturday making it the wettest day this year, one point nine inches being recorded by the Technical High School gauge. As a result of the conditions all outdoor sporting fixtures in Pukekohe were postponed. While heavy rain fell no damage is reported. The district appears to have esofcped the storm which visited other parts of the North Island, although a heavy blow was experienced between midnight and two o’clock on Sunday morning. Yesterday was a gloriously fine day and many people were attracted out of doors, the backyard garden being a popular spot. Today conditions again represented perfection.
