WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
THE BOMBAY BRANCH FEBRUARY MEETING The February meeting of the Bombay Women’s Institute was held lastweek, the president, Mrs W. A. Peterson. presiding over a good attendance. It was decided to carry on with knitting as required by the patriotic committee. A demonstration of metal work was given by Mrs .T. Rudd whose finished articles were much admired. On the motion of Mrs H. Abercrombie, Mrs Rudd was given a hearty vote of thanks and presented willi a spray of roses. Members are indebted lo Mr Peterson for the making of a cupboard to house the Institute library. The roll call, “What New Zealand is famous for,” was well responded to. The monthly competitions resulted: “Something new from something old,” Mrs W. Grant 1, Mrs A. Peterson 2; lies! bloom, Mrs W. Grant 1, Mrs C. Hartley and Mrs A. Brown (equal) 2, Mrs ,T. Harrison 3.
A dainty afternoon tea, with Mrs G. Hartley and Mrs .1. Lawrence as hostesses, brought to a close a happy alternoon.
