POWER BOARD STATISTICS

HOW THE LOAD HAS GROWN POSITION IN 1926 AND NOW of the remarkable growth of the Franklin Electric-power Board since it commenced operations in 1926, was contained in some statistical data furnished at Wednesday’s meeting of the board by the secretary, Mr A. J. McDowall. The expansion has been consistent over the 13 years. In 1926 there were 730 consumers; 17 ranges; 15 waterheaters, and the revenue totalled £3311.

In 1930 the figures were: 2887 consumers; 337 ranges; 883 waterheaters; and revenue £39,570.

In 1934 there were 3444 consumers; 527 ranges; 1450 waterheaters; and revenue £48,483.

In 1939 the figures have reached the highest peak. They are: 4971 consumers; 1204 ranges; 2751 waterheaters; and revenue £75,041. The following shows how with increased - consumption the average revenue in pence per unit sold has been reduced to the consumer. In 1938 it was .883 d and 1939, .Sold. The average working costs in pence per unit sold were: 1938, .580 d: 1939, ,524 d.
