Eye Colour in Pigs.
Many breeders, supported by Darrin’s statement that blue-eyed cats are generally supposed to* be deaf, ha\e a decided prejudice against light colour in the eyes of live-stock such as pigs, dogs, cats and even horses. The contention is that light-coloured eyes are Invariably linked with some constitutional weakness which may, through hereditary concentration and transference, become lethal in a family or type. No doubt for this reason Australian judges of pigs are displaying a definite preference for eye colour in Ibe relative order of: dark, hazel, blue and pale.
