THE PUKEKOHE CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING HELD.

OPENING DAY MARCH 26. Keen enthusiasm was displayed at the annual meeting of the Pukekohe Golf Club held on Thursday evening. The president, Mr J. Roulston, senr. presided over an attendance of 40. The balance sheet revealed a financial loss of £25 5s on the year’s working, due mainly to increased course maintenance. The captain in his report stated that the outgoing committee had steadily pursued the objective of a new course and the matter, would be kept in view by the incoming committee. Officers elected were: President, Mr Jas. Roulston, senr.; vice-presidents, Mr C. G. Johnson and Mr A. Schlaepfer; captain, Mr M. R. Grierson; vicecaptain, Dr. H. S. Douglas; handicappei and seector, Mr H. T. Moore; secretary, Mr R. Bullen; treasurer, Mr L. M. Jobson; auditor, Mr M. S. Campbell; committee, Messrs J. L. Barriball, H. T. Moore, J. Niccol, K. Liddle and L. G. Sharp; match committee, Messrs K. Liddle, J. Roulston, jnr., P. Mills; delegates to Franklin Golf Association, Mr G. G. Johnson and Mr H. T. Moore. Women’s section: President, Mrs I. A. Motion; vice-president, Mrs G. Cooper; captain, Mrs V. L. Harvey; vice-captain, Mrs H. T. Moore; handicapper and selector, Mrs F. W. Lumsden; secretary, Miss J. L. Bayly; committee, Mrs N. M. Bradanovich, Mrs M. R. Grierson and Mrs P. Mills, Miss G. Massey and Miss I. Hawke; match committee, Mrs Bradanovich, Mrs Mills and Mrs Grierson. It was decided that subscriptions remain the same as last year with the exception that the limited membership subscription be reduced to £1 Is for men and 10s 6d for ladies, plus an additional Is 6d for insurance fee. The country members’ subscription does not include the right to play in club competitions. Genuine first year players (both ladies and men) who have not belonged to a club before are to be admitted at half the subscription. Opening day was fixed for March 26 when a Canadian mixed foursomes will be held.
