Mr G. K. Lawrie, Mayor of Pukekohe, Mrs Lawrie, and Mr C. K. Lawrie, jnr., who have been on a visit to Rotorua, returned to Pukekohe last night.
The death occurred at Otahuhu on Saturday of Mrs Clarice Elinor Logan, wife of Mr Leslie Logan of Pukekawa, in her 45th year. The funeral took place at the Pukekohe cemetery this afternoon.
The death took place on Saturday at his residence, Karaka, of Mr James Tooman, fourth son of the late Mr and Mrs John Tooman of Tuhimata, ir. his 67th year. The funeral takes place at Papakura tomorrow. r
Prior to the consideration of ordinary business at Friday night’s meeting of"the executive of the Franklin Agricultural and Pastoral Society, the president, Mr W. J. D. Sharp, referred to the passing of Mr R. F. Wilkinson, a former member of the society’s executive and a judge at Franklin shows, Mr A. B. Ghezzi, who had assisted in the parking of cars on show days, Mrs W. Kane and Mr James O’Connor. On Mr Sharp’s suggestion, a motion of sympathy with the relatives of the deceased was passed, members standing.
