A CONNECTING ROAD

HUNUA—PONGA. RURAL MAIL SERVICE. At last week’s meeting of the Franklin County Council, a request was received from the Opaheke-Bombay-Karaka Ratepayers’ Association, that Mclntosh road, Hunua, and Ponga road be linked up with a metalled road to enable a rural mail service to be arranged in place of the post office at Ponga, which was now closed. The riding member and engineer were asked to carry out an inspection and furnish a report on what is required.
