Cricket in the Franklin District.

COUNTRY ASSOCIATION. MEETING LAST WEEK. THREE ROUNDS ARRANGED. The formation of a country cricket association was decided on at meeting held at Glenbrook recently. Delegates were present from Waiuku, Waipipi, Waitangi, Glenbrook and Waiau Pa.

Officers elected were: President, Mr J. M. Heise; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. J. T. Hodgkinson; emergency committee, Messrs Hodgkinson and W. Sampson; selector, Mr C. Cooper.

It w’as decided to conduct a competition, play to be from 10.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., .with a minimum of four hours. The scale of points decided on was; Three points for a win on two innings; two points for a win on the first; one point for a draw'.

The following draw was made for the first round : October 24: Glenbrook v. Waipipi, at Glenbrook; Waitangi v. Waiau Pa, at Waiau Pa; Waiuku, a bye. October 26:'Waipipi v. Waiuku, at Waiuku: Glenbrook v. at Glenbrook; Waiau Pa. a bye..

October 31 : Waipipi v. Waitangi, at Waiuku; Waiau Pa v. Waiuku. at Waiau Pa; Glenbrook, a bye.

November 7; Waipipi v. Waiau Pa, at Waiuku: Glenbrook v. Waiuku, at Glenbrook; Waitangi. a bye. November 14: Glenbrook v. Waiau Pa, at Waiau Pa; Waiuku v. Waitangi, at Glenbrook; Waipipi, a bye. The second round will be the same as the first, except that the grounds will be reversed. An adjournment for haymaking was provided for in the third round.
