Bathing at Chalky Point. Chalky Point was a favourite rendezvous on Sunday afternoon for quite a number of Papakura residents. Many cars were parked there and some good bathing was enjoyed. Anglican Sunday School. A very steady increase in the number of children attending the Christ church Sunday school, Papakura, has been evident lately. \esterday the number was a record for many months. The children are making a floral Presentation next Sunday morning on the occasion of the harvest festival services. Apple Trees in Bloom. For apple trees to be seen in full bloom at this time of the year is a most unusual sight. Two trees in Broadway, Papakura, have been a source of interest to many passers-b \ Both trees, it may be stated, bore a good crop of fruit this season. Since the cyclonic storm early in Februar/, when the trees were stripped of leaves, many new ones have formed. If the trees bear a second crop they will be the centre of further interest. Tennis Club Dance at Runciman. The Runciman tennis dance held in the Drury hall on Saturday, was very successful. Music was supplied by Ballard’s orchestra. Supper was enjoyed.
