Motorists Vision Obscured at Corners.

REMOVAL OF GROWTH. V INSPECTION AUTHORISED. “It. ought to be done; it safeguards the public,” remarked Cr. W. G. Motion when, at the Franklin County Council meeting on Monday, the Automobile Association (Franklin agency) pointed out that high hedges, gorse and blackberry growing on roads obscured vision at comers. & The letter indicated that at such points it-was especially difficult to see small cars. As opportunity offered a patrol would call on property owners concerned to explain the importance of keeping growth cut at corners.

The association stated that attention was required at the following corners: Wylie’s (Pukekohe-Tuakau road) ; junction of Patumahoe-Waiau Pa and Drury-Waiuku roads; and junction Waiuku - Patumahoe - Drury and Pukekohe - Drury roads. The acting-engineer, Mr A. C. Bettany, was asked to inspect the points named, together with Barnaby’s corner (Harrisville), and the clerk to serve notices on owners where necessary.
